While we can build new tanks, we can definitely repair any portion of the
existing storage tanks. Repairing a tank actually demands higher level of
engineering skill and knowledge

the part of the team doing it. The reason being that they have to be extra
precaution not to damage the good part of the tank, while at the same time
doing cutting and repairing work to replace the faulty portion. Figure 3 shows the replacement of the roof plate. The support of
the roof is replaced systematically. The coordination needed when placing
the girder onto the support is very vital because if the column is not
place probably, a domino effect will bring down not just the support but
also the entire tanks. Even if the girders are seated onto the support, if
it was place off position, the rest of the structure will not fit in
properly. Everything are done according to project planning and procedures
and safety measures.

| Figure 5 shows the laying of the rafters. The
sequence and position of the rafters affects the overall strength of the
structure. When all the rafters have been seated properly, the roof plates
are laid. This is shown in Figure 4. |

Figure 6 shows the roof of a tank that has been completely
replace. As mention before, Hong Heng Iron works can do servicing to
any portion of the tank. Sometime when our customer prefers a
const-conscious option, we can provide them with the engineering work
of replacing only a small section of the tank. Like for example, in
Figure 7, the entire first course of the shell plate has
been replaced, but only a plate of the second course was replaced. |
